MASTERCRAFT offers a chrome free conversion coating for aluminum and its alloys that is RoHS compliant. The non chrome passivate does not contain Lead, Cadmium, Chromium (hexavalent or trivalent) and Mercury. The coating can be used as a final finish that has excellent corrosion resistance or can also serve as a base with high adhesion values for paints and powder coatings.

The conversion coating is normally clear to a light blue color depending on coating weights. The color is very dependent on the substrate alloy and surface condition being processed.

COATING FEATURES:

• The conversion coating passes the requirement of MIL-C 5541 for electrical contact resistance for Class 3 coatings

• Provides excellent primer or paint base, or for other subsequent organic treatments when tested in accordance with ASTM D 3359

• Provides corrosion protection that rivals conventional chromate conversion coatings when tested in accordance with ASTM B 117

• Baking of treated parts does not affect the coating as with traditional yellow chromates

• No aging or curing required before topcoat application

• Rinsing the coated aluminum part in hot water does not compromise the corrosion resistance of the coating
